This summer a star falls. The chase begins. Ratings: 7.7/10 from 189,847 users (IMDb)
I’m still not sure why the previews are so blah for this AWESOME movie. It’s a beautiful starry-fairy-tale. If you loved watching The Princess Bride, Labyrinth, Enchanted, and other truly sweet and original fantasy adventure, this is a must watch for you.
The plot line really is nothing like I have seen, and a unique story is certainly appreciated with everything else that is currently in or coming soon to theaters. In spite of what first impressions may give, it isn’t cheesy, corny, tacky, or ridiculous, and is actually highly entertaining and funny. The flow is quite well done, nothing seems rushed or dragged out. The soundtrack, for lack of better words, is magical and adds much to the film, as opposed to simply filling the silence as often happens in movies or TV.
Stardust follows Tristan a young man on a quest to find a fallen star and bring it back to the woman he loves in order to prove his love for her. The only catch is that the star has fallen on the other side of the wall, a doorway between England and a magical kingdom known as Stormhold.
Directed by: Matthew Vaughn
Writing Credits: Jane Goldman (screenplay), Matthew Vaughn (screenplay), & Neil Gaiman (novel)
Stars: Charlie Cox, Claire Danes, Sienna Miller, Adam Buxton..
Trivia: Adam Buxton played the role of Quintus, where it was originally given to comedian Noel Fielding. Due to some health condition he had to drop out and later it was given to comedian Adam Buxton.
Narrator: A philosopher once asked, “Are we human because we gaze at the stars, or do we gaze at them because we are human?” Pointless, really… “Do the stars gaze back?” Now *that’s* a question.
Yvaine: You know when I said I knew little about love? That wasn’t true. I know a lot about love. I’ve seen it, centuries and centuries of it, and it was the only thing that made watching your world bearable. All those wars. Pain, lies, hate… It made me want to turn away and never look down again. But when I see the way that mankind loves… You could search to the furthest reaches of the universe and never find anything more beautiful. So yes, I know that love is unconditional. But I also know that it can be unpredictable, unexpected, uncontrollable, unbearable and strangely easy to mistake for loathing, and… What I’m trying to say, Tristan is… I think I love you. Is this love, Tristan? I never imagined I’d know it for myself. My heart… It feels like my chest can barely contain it. Like it’s trying to escape because it doesn’t belong to me any more. It belongs to you. And if you wanted it, I’d wish for nothing in exchange – no gifts. No goods. No demonstrations of devotion. Nothing but knowing you loved me too. Just your heart, in exchange for mine.
Yvaine: What do stars do? They shine.
Buy the DVD? HELL YES! See it in the Theater? Most definitely! Bottom Line: Excellent movie for everyone! EPIC! I strongly recommend seeing it in the theater, I know I’ll be going back for seconds!
