Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~ Berthold Auerbach
Music is what life sounds like. ~Eric Olson
Jack Dawson is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Newcastle, NSW. His dynamic and unorthodox style of playing has captivated audiences from stages and street corners from Melbourne to Montreal. Jack hasn’t worked a real job since he was fired from McDonald’s as a teenager. His performances are a marriage of folk, blues and jazz with modern appointments and playing techniques.
In late 2012 Jack released his debut EP, Instrumentals #1, a collection of pieces composed in real time performing in public places across Australia. Melodic themes and harmonies are punctuated with driving percussion, all performed simultaneously on one guitar.
During August of 2013, Jack was the Museum of Contemporary Art’s resident performer shortly before embarking upon a two month tour of North America. In January and February this year Jack was also invited to be the only touring musical act for the Australian Surf Movie Festival playing sold out venues Australia wide.
